Cold Lonely Nights
As a breeze comes through the window
And the door slams shut
A cold shiver goes down my spine,
And suddenly my home doesn't feel mine.
I get this empty feeling
As the noise's of the dark begin,
And the cold and lonely nights
Have started setting in.
There's no one else around me
And there's nothing much to see,
Just the curtain blowing up and down
And the rustling of a tree.
The wind begins to whistle
And the clouds begin to roar,
I creep down the hallway
And put the chains across the door.
I go into the bedroom
And jump into the bed,
I close my eyes
And think of you instead.
Every night that passes by
And I am all alone,
Is another night nearer
To when you're coming home.
